Straightforward Pricing. Some Corpus Christi electricity companies offer low "introductory" or "promotional" rates for the first month or so of service. Before you know it, you're paying a much higher rate. Beware of tricky teaser rates from electricity companies trying to get your business. For electricity rates you can count on, choose TXU Energy.
Comparing electricity plans in Corpus Christi means more than just looking at plans to find the lowest rate. Be sure to take a look at each plan's Product Details to get a better idea of what each one entails. These fact sheets are more than just supply rates per kWh and term lengths; they include information on base charges, utility fees and cancellation fees. They also can include features such as usage credits, green energy products or even free weekends.
For Bedford residents, the average amount of energy used each month totals to roughly 1,244 kWh, exceeding the national average by over 300 kWh. That is also the case for the monthly bill that the city’s residents pay each month, as Bedford’s average $118 charge tops the nationwide figure. This expense can be minimized based on the competitive plans residents are able to choose from when selecting their energy provider.
Texas deregulated its energy market in 2002. Basically, deregulation gave the majority of the Lone Star State, including Corpus Christi, the ability to pick energy suppliers from a pool of companies. The idea was that energy deregulation in Corpus Christi would push competitors to lower prices, consequently driving down energy bill costs for the consumer.
“ We signed a 7 month contract with GM energy when we bought our new house, and it has turned out to be the best, most honest company we have purchased electricity from in Texas. We've been burned by Reliant and more recently by Amigo. With Green Mountain, our rate was what they said it was. There were no shenanigans, just a low rate for 100pct wind power. They let us know when our contract was ending and I'm wishing that we had just stuck with them. My only complaint is that they wanted to raise our rate if we stayed with them, like every other TX electricity company does. So, we switched, got scammed by Amigo, and now we are trying Infinite Energy. It would have been cheaper to stay with a good company. I wish TX would just end deregulation or would protect consumers better from these vultures at the energy companies. ”
Texas REPs have been competing for energy consumers' business for more than 10 years. There might be different Corpus Christi electric rates and supply plans available to you, but how do you know which one is the best fit? When consumers compare electricity providers, they have the ability to find the best energy solution for their home or business. Shoppers tend to search for a supply plan based on options such as term length, special rewards programs, competitive rates and more.
